I am always in search of new teaching strategies for summarization and cooperative learning. I heard about this one the other day and thought I would share it with all of you. This example is from the
Needs Focused Learning Series. You can download a free 25 page PDF that explains this and many other teaching strategies.

We used this strategy at a teacher conference I attended a few months ago. I haven't used it in class yet, so I'd be eager to hear from those who have.
ReplyDeleteI am planning on using it here in the next few weeks. I will let you know...
ReplyDeleteI used this as a meet and greet session for my B.A.M. group (Books and More reading club). The kids told each other about the books they were reading, favorite character, favorite genre ect. Students had fun, and they really didn't want to quit. So we repeated some of the questions again---I think I called it Speed Meet.
ReplyDeleteI like that variation. I will have to remember that next year when I get a new batch of Freshman.
